| HIST | of Manning, South Carolina 15 Pecan St., Manning, South Carolina BARBARA JEAN FANN POE Posted Friday, February 12, 2021 6:00 am MANNING - Barbara Jean Fann Poe, 88, widow of James Koonce Poe, died on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, at her home. Born on Jan. 9, 1933, in Alcolu, she was a daughter of the late Donald Ellsworth Fann and Lois DuBose Fann Graybeal. She was a 1954 graduate of Winthrop College, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She was a teacher in the Clarendon County Schools for 36 years. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church at Manning and was a member of the chancel choir. She is survived by three children, James "Jim" Koonce Poe Jr. (Betty) of Walterboro, Elizabeth "Betsy" Poe Shuford (Joe) of Mount Pleasant and Donald "Don" Fann Poe (Lynn) of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Ryan Poe (Robin), Dillon Poe (Jacqueline), Allen Shuford, Don Poe, Katie Poe and Harrison Poe; three great-grandchildren, Christopher, Madelyn and Hannah; and two step-grandchildren, Elizabeth Brock and Chandler Brock (Shannon). In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Daniel Shuford III. A private memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Presbyterian Church at Manning. The memorial service at the church will be live streamed via the church Facebook page and via Boxcast. A graveside service will be held at noon on Saturday at Manning Cemetery. The graveside service is open to the public. COVID-19 protocol and masks are required. Memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Church at Manning, P.O. Box 207, Manning, SC 29102.
