JOHN S. HOUSE
John Shelton House, 78, widower of Pauline Chance House, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at his home.
Born in Atkins, he was a son of the late Frank Hudson House Sr. and Dorothy Elizabeth Baker House. Mr. House was a retired U.S. Air Force major with 25 years of service and a veteran of Korea and Vietnam.
Surviving are a son, Mark House and wife, Allison, of Sumter; a daughter, Lisa Roupe of Sumter; two sisters, Mary Barnette of Columbus, Ga., and Sarah Barcroft of Corpus Christi, Texas; and three grandchildren, Michael House, Shain House and Lauren Roupe.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank H. House Jr.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
