Born April 18, 1921, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Alonza Herbert Barbour and Eliza Sewell Wells. During her early adult years, she and her sisters sang on local radio stations, entertaining many. Her love of all music followed her throughout her life. Lonnie leaves behind four children, Sandra Thompson (Tommy), James D. Price Jr. (Cheryl), Paula Scott (Charles) and Steve Price, all of Sumter; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to those who showed love and care to our mother over the past eight years at National Health Care. A special thank you to Vanessa for all the loving care you gave our mother. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with Chaplain Clopell Rhodes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Paula Scott, 2705 Thomas Sumter Highway, Sumter.
