REMBERT Katie Mae Abram Rembert, 80, widow of Richard "Sonny Boy" Rembert, died Friday, February 6, 2009, at Lake Marion Nursing Home, Summerton. Born in Sumter County on July 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Senious Abram and Delia Pinkney Abram. The family will receive friends at the home of her niece, Joyce Blanding, 42 Corbett Street, Sumter. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Williams Funeral Home Inc. REMBERT Katie Mae Abram Rembert, 80, widow of Richard "Sonny Boy" Rembert, departed this earthly life on Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Lake Marion Nursing Home, Summerton. Born July 28, 1928, in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Senious and Delia Pinkney Abram. She attended the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church (USA), Dalzell. She later joined the Grant Hill Baptist Church after marriage. She leaves to cherish her memories: a son, James Blair of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Mollie (James) Mickens of Newark, N.J., and Rosa Lee Blanding of Sumter; two brothers-in-law, Richard Blanding and Johnny Rembert, both of Sumter; two sisters-in-law, Thomasina Abrams of Sumter and Annie Rembert of Cleveland; a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Burgess Blair Jr.; three sisters, Thelma Dow Jenkins, Mary Abrams and Dora Abrams; and four brothers, Edward, Junious, Arthur and Richard Abrams. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from Grant Hill Baptist Church, Black River Road, Rembert, with the Rev. Clifton Witherspoon, pastor, the Rev. Dr. Ernest Jackson, eulogist, Minister Durant Jenkins, presiding, assisted by the Rev. William Ellis. The family will receive friends at the home of her niece, Joyce Blanding, 42 Corbett St., Sumter. The procession will leave from the home of her niece at 1:20 p.m. The remains will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Floral bearers and pallbearers will be family and friends.
