| HIST | of Lexington, South Carolina of Greer, South Carolina of Greenville, South Carolina at death- she had 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren Lorena Fann Margaret Lorena Odom Fann, 89, of Sumter, died Monday, May 23, 2011. Born in Manning, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Frances Witherspoon Odom. Mrs. Fann had been a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church since 1945, serving as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, administrative staff and in other leadership positions. She retired in 1983 as deputy judge of probate for Sumter County. She was also a member of the Shepherd's Center, Executive Club, Cosmopolitan Club and Pilot Club. She was an avid bridge player and gardener. She was revered as a loving and devoted wife of the late G. Hersel Fann Sr. and as a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are one son, Dr. George H. Fann (Gaye) of Columbia; two daughters, Franki Fann Roberts (U.S. Senator Pat Roberts) of Alexandria, Va., and Kansas, and Maree Fann Webster (Dr. William Webster IV) of Greenville; one sister, Edna Broach of Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Blanche Odom of Alcolu; one brother-in-law, Paul A. Fann of Hartsville; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Lewis and her grandson, the Rev. Brent Webster, officiating. Burial will be in Trinity United Methodist Church cemetery in Alcolu. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hersel and Lorena Fann Scholarship Fund of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 27 Broad St., Sumter, SC 29150 or to the National Parkinson's Foundation Fund, 1501 N.W. 9th Ave./Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136.
