Langford, died on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. Born on Jan. 29, 1958, in Santa Maria, California, he was a son of the late Jack Langford and Geneva Langford Bagley. He retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force and was a Gulf War veteran. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Covington Theological Seminary and served as a supply pastor. He was a member of Sumter First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 41 years; two sons, Timothy Langford (Amanda) and Thomas Langford (Lori), both of Sumter; five grandchildren, Kayla, Jeremiah, Isabelle, Cadence and Carlee; three brothers, Robert Langford (Shara) of Shingle Springs, California, Richard Langford (Mary Gail) of Danville, California, and Ralph Langford (Ramona) of Dayton, Nevada; and a sister, Cynthia Zitzelberger of Citrus Heights, California. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Langford. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Sumter First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Dan Barber and the Rev. Dr. Ron Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home, 627 Baldwin Drive. Memorials may be made to the Scholarship Orchestra Fund of First Baptist Church, 107 E. Liberty St., Sumter, SC 29150.
