Born Jan. 21, 1933, in Union, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Orby James Ferguson Sr. and the late Syrena Webb Ferguson. She was a member of Fraser Memorial Presbyterian Church and volunteered at the gift shop at Prisma Health Tuomey for over 20 years. Survivors include four children, Heyward Glenn Brown (Sabra) of Pleasant Grove, William Stanley Brown (Betsy) of Sumter, Judith Brown McLeod of Pawleys Island and Donna Brown Knopf (Kelly) of Sumter; 10 grandchildren, Kim Johnston (Bubba), Heyward Brown (Carolyn), Barbie Coker (Tracy), Sara Anderson (Walt), Becki McLeod, William McLeod (Jill), Ashleigh Sommerville (Erik), Meagan Trezza (Mike), Kell Knopf (Jenny) and Syrena Worley (Kevin); 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Orby James Ferguson Jr. (Gail); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Ferguson, and his wife, Hala. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Chuck Staggs. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Fraser Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1746 Highway 521 South, Sumter, SC 29153. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.  [1, 2, 3]
