Davis Sr. Luther Marion Davis Sr., 70, husband of Ruth Ann Jacobs Davis, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at his home. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Clarence Birchmore Davis Sr. and Azilea Napper Davis. Mr. Davis was a member of Southside Baptist Church and Sumter Masonic Lodge No. 364 AFM. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; two sons, Luther "Bubba" Davis Jr. and William Eugene "Billy" Davis, both of Sumter; one daughter, Mary Glenn "Cissy" Christmas of Sumter; three brothers, Clarence Davis Jr. of Sumter, Bruce Davis of Alabama and Billy Davis of Wyoming; one sister, Sylvia Rowan of Washington; and four grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with Masonic rites. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
