She was very active in church and civic circles in Calhoun, Georgia. She was a member and organizer of the Hillhouse Garden Club, member of Eastern Starr, and charter member of Gordon County United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was chairman of the building committee which constructed an annex to the Calhoun Woman’s Club Cabin in 1917. Rose culture was her hobby which she pursued until the time of her death. Her rose garden in the rear of her home was always a show-place. She was a member of the National Rose Association. [2] |
