BARTLETTE Posted Wednesday, August 17, 2016 6:00 am George Rutledge Bartlette, 72, died on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at Palmetto Health Tuomey. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Rutledge Divine Bartlette and Hattie Lou Timmons Bartlette. Mr. Bartlette was a member of Providence Baptist Church and he was a retired carpenter. Surviving are four nieces, Betty Morris (Ronnie) of Sumter, with whom he made his home, and Nancy Ard, Susie Goodwin and Cindy Chockley, all of Manning; two nephews, John E. Bartlette II and Harvey Branhan II, both of Manning. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating.
