Poole, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at Palmetto Health Richland. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Mack and Mable Copeland Bartlette. Mrs. Poole was a member of Promise Land Ministries. Survivors include three children, Carolyn Avins (Melvin), Margaret Ivey (Roland) and Wayne Poole, all of Sumter; six grandchildren, Tammy (Rick), Lisa (Matt), Jason (Suzie), Michael (Stacy), Lynn (Charlie) and Mandy (Tony); 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Mack Bartlette Jr. (Linda) of Sumter; and two sisters, Eleanor Pack (Edward) and Margie Wright, both of Sumter. She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Poole; a grandchild, Justin Wayne Poole; and two sisters, Mary Griffin and Lottie Atkinson. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. James McElveen, the Rev. Donnie Collins and the Rev. Tony Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Nazarene Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Wright, Mark Yarborough, Sammy Avins, Kris Seale, Brandon Grimsley and DJ McLeod. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Avins and Richard Thomas. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her granddaughter, Tammy, 20 Island Court. Memorials may be made to Promise Land Ministries, 1830 Myrtle Beach Highway, Sumter, SC 29153. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
