MICHAEL CHESNUT Jordan Elizabeth Kinder and Michael David Chestnut were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church, Sumter. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lucian Scott Kinder of Sumter, and the granddaughter of Ms. Sylvia Oxner Kinder of Sumter, Dr. and Mrs. Jack Darrow Kinder of Andrews, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Archie Kelly Coker Sr. of Sumter. She graduated from Wilson Hall and Clemson University with a bachelor of science in parks, recreation and tourism management. The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. David Hill Chestnut of La Crosse, Wis., and the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Floyd Merlynn Colip of Norton, Kan., Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Raymond Jones of Birmingham, Ala., and the late Fred Chestnut of Selma, Ala. He graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor of science in civil engineering and attends the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Pastor Lawrence Richter Toburen III and Dr. Mark Edward Durrett officiated at the ceremony. Music was provided by Mrs. Ann Caldwell, organist; Jerry Burchfield, vocalist; and Mrs. Christi Brownlow and Marlena Davis, violinists. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory, silk taffeta ball gown featuring a V-neckline, a ruched waist, and a chapel train trimmed in lace. She carried a bouquet of ivory hydrangea and roses. Ryane Emilie Kinder, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor, with Mrs. Brandon Scott Kinder, sister-in-law of the bride, as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Anne Meredith Chestnut and Mary Elizabeth Chestnut, sisters of the bridegroom, Mrs. Edward Rogers Reynolds Jr., Wesley Ann Shaw, Cynthia Satcher Bynum, Katie Lynn Jett, Sheila Ryan Anthony and Cristin Michelle May. Flower girls were Lexie Mae Porter, sister of the bride, Mary Ellis Waynick and Kyndal Gail Waynick. The bridegroom's father, and John Mark Chestnut and Stephen Graham Chestnut, brothers of the bridegroom, served as best men. Groomsmen were Andrew McIntyre Armstrong, Thomas Zachary Cooper, Bradford Lee Cooper, Drew Jeffrey Gunnells Jr., Matthew Charles Johnston, Brandon Scott Kinder, brother of the bride, David Thomas Newton and Kenneth Martin Orr. Harold Raymond Waynick IV served as ring bearer. Ushers were William Scott Barry, Matthew Alan Jenkins, Christopher James Luketic, Wesley Dill Porter and John Mark Rives. Also participating were Elizabeth Candler Lowder and Kinsley McCall Waynick. The bride's parents held the reception at the O'Donnell House, Sumter. The bridegroom's parents held the rehearsal party at Hamptons Restaurant, Sumter. Following a wedding trip to Turks and Caicos, the couple will reside in Birmingham.  [1, 2, 7]
