DUCOM Posted Friday, April 28, 2017 6:00 am Michael Waksmouth Ducom, 55, husband of Lisa Clary Ducom, died on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Born in Oxnard, California, he was a son of David O. Ducom and the late Barbara Waksmouth Ducom. He worked with the Sumter County Sheriff's Department for 12 years and later transitioned to the S.C. Department of Corrections at the Sumter Lee Detention Center. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Lisa Ducom; his father of Sumter; three children, Stephanie Campbell of Florence, Patrick Campbell of Sumter and Ashley Ducom of Charlottesville, Virginia; four grandchildren, Knox Weatherly, Sadie Jones, Ella Shifflett and Lorelei Shifflett; one brother, David E. Ducom of Edmond, Oklahoma; one sister, Natalie Sutton (Larry) of Sumter; two nephews, Christopher Sutton and Brian Sutton; and two nieces, Nicholette Ducom and Michelle Ducom. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Yoder officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979.
