Hodge, a retired assistant manager in the cafeteria of Kentland Elementary School in Kentland, Md., and a three-year Liberty resident, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 92. A daughter of the late Claude M. and Olga H. Hodge Witherspoon, she was born Aug. 30, 1915, in Sumter. Survivors include a son, Robert M. Hodge of Parksville, N.Y.; a daughter, Gaile Kraycer and her husband, Michael, of Liberty; two grandchildren, Kristine Galant and her husband, Maurice, of Liberty and Melissa Jesmonth and her husband, Jeffrey, of Latham, N.Y.; four great-grandchildren, Gregory Cohen, Ashlie Cohen, Meghan Jesmonth and Kenton Galant; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, H.L. Hodge, on Jan. 8, 2006; a sister, Claudia Robertson; and two brothers, Thomas and Ralph Witherspoon. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Harris Funeral Home, West Street at Buckley, Liberty. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jearl White officiating. Burial will be in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Orange-Sullivan Hospice, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
