Born Dec. 4, 1946, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late John Courtney and Andrena Moran Ray. Mrs. Manville was a retired international tour director. Surviving are a sister, Andrena E. Ray of Sumter; a brother and sister-in-law, John Courtney and Ellen Ray of Ellicott City, Md.; a nephew, John Blandon Ray and his wife, Kim Nies, of Eugene, Ore.; a niece, Anne E. Ray of Brooklyn, N.Y.; an aunt, Mary Ray Foster of Swansea; two first cousins, Myles Moran of Chatsworth, Calif., and Phyllis Hendricks of Swansea; and a beloved network of close friends. A Memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father Tom Burke, C.Ss.R. officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SPCA, 1140 S. Guignard Drive, Sumter, SC 29150 or to a charity of one's choice.
