BEASLEY Dalton Henry Beasley, 75, beloved husband of Frances Chandler Beasley, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at NHC Healthcare of Sumter. Mr. Beasley was born in Bishopville, a son of the late Elton and Ethel Beasley. He worked at Santee Print for more than 44 years. He loved to garden and he walked two miles every day. He was a former member of the Boulevard Church of the Nazarene and then attended the First Church of God. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Donald Beasley of Goose Creek; two daughters, Sandra Strange and her husband, Kevin, of Sumter and Kathy Currie of Florida; three brothers, Jack Beasley and his wife, Marlene, of Bishopville, Charles Beasley and his wife, Jackie, of St. Matthews and David Beasley of Sumter; three sisters, Alice Russell and her husband, Ed, of Sumter, Judy Lindak and her husband, John, of Santee and Ann Hemingway and her husband, Mac, of Manning; a half-sister, Gladys Allsbrook of Sumter; six grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Beasley of Bishopville and Myrtice Beasley of Camden. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Edward Beasley; a sister, Virginia Poston; and two half-brothers, Elton Beasley Jr. and Dagnal Beasley. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Church of God, 1835 Camden Highway, Sumter, with the Rev. Ron Bower officiating. Burial will follow at Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Bullock Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Mid-State SC Chapter, P.O. Box 7044, Columbia, SC 29202-7044.
