IRENE A. DAVIS
Irene Anderson Davis, 90, widow of J. C. Davis, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Lumberton, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Henry Anderson and the late Irene Melton Anderson. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She retired from Campbell Soup Company and worked 20 years for the Council on Aging with the Meals on Wheels Program.
Survivors include two sons, Howard Davis (Carol) and Billy Davis (Bobbie), both of Sumter; four grandchildren, Michael Davis, Howard Davis Jr., Margie Bradley, and Angel Davis; seven great-grandchildren; and two special nieces, Lula Mae Britt and Evelyn Blackwell, both of Lumberton, N.C.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Sumter Cemetery with Mr. Howard Davis officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
