| HIST | of Ashwood, South Carolina CHARLES L. WINDHAM Posted Friday, August 21, 2020 6:00 am Charles "Chuck" L. Windham, 66, husband of Becky Tidwell Windham, died on Monday, Aug. 17, 2020, at his home. Born on Oct. 16, 1953, in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Harmon Windham and Bobbie Jean Baker Holloman. Chuck grew up in the Lynchburg area and also spent some years in Florida. Chuck was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time outdoors. He was a skilled mechanic, loved woodworking and could build or make most anything. In the last few years as his health was declining, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife in their garden, making bird houses for friends and family, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. Chuck had a great sense of humor and was a fighter until the end, always joking no matter how bad he felt. He was of the Nazarene faith. Survivors include his loving wife of 12 years; four children, Shannon Osteen (Chance), Chad Windham (Lindsay), Julie Green (Mike) and Kristin Neumann (Jim); 14 grandchildren, Abbey, Jenna, Alexis, Hanna, Kandalyn, John, Millie, Jemma, Matthew (Ashley), Seth, Matthew, Tayleigh, Danielle and Charlotte; three siblings, Gene Holloman (Cece), Rusty Windham (Karen) and Gwen Muscrella (Danny); and his stepmother, Miriam Windham. A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38150. The family would like to send a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice of Sumter for such caring and compassion during the last six months.
