If that is not correct then they can be separated. jkh JAMES RONALD NEWMAN Posted Wednesday, November 3, 2021 6:00 am James Ronald "Ron" Newman, 74, husband of Carole Joy Miller Newman, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021, at McLeod Hospice House. Born April 18, 1947, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Turner Boyd Newman and Sarah Frances Jones Newman. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church, the Gideons International and Mission of Men choral group. He operated a computer repair business and was well known as the "Computer Doctor" as well as an all-around handyman. Survivors include his wife of 11 years; two sons, Garrett Newman (Marisol) of Vista, California, and Matthew Newman (Lexi) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a stepson, Daniel Lyles (Amy) of Sumter; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Leverne Newman (Ann), Boyd Newman, Tim Newman (Lynne) and Paul Newman (Debbie), all of Sumter; two sisters, Rose Marie Pack Cummings of Sumter and Eleanor Hawkins (John) of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a brother-in-law, John Owens of Dalzell. He was preceded in death by a sister, Annette Owens. A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Zoar Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leverne Newman Jr., Gerald Haefelin, Darrell Newman, Ryan Newman, Robbie Newman and Andy Pack. John Darrell Owens will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Concord Baptist Church, 1885 Myrtle Beach Hwy., Sumter, SC 29153. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.  [1]
