Born on Sept. 16, 1929, in Lake City, she was a daughter of the late Snyder McNeal DuBose and Lille Jane Welch DuBose. She was a member of Smithville Pentecostal Holiness Church. She worked for the Pioneer Dress Co. for many years. Survivors include two sons, Larry Brown (Tammy) of Washington, North Carolina, and Clyde Brown of Sumter; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a special daughter-in-law, Connie Windham of Sumter. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Genevieve Brown, Dean Brown and Glen Brown; four sisters; and two brothers. Due to COVID-19, a private graveside service will be held. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.  [1, 4, 6]
