| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina Baker-Rowell Kelly Elaine Baker and James Michael Rowell were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church in Sumter. Pastor Lawrence Richter Toburen III and the Rev. Janie McElwee-Smith performed the ceremony. Music was provided by Anne Dave, pianist; and Carissa Ann Baun, Ashley Smithhart Cook and Kayla Raye Oxendine, cousin of the bride, vocalists. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Earl Barrick and Steven Byron Baker, and the granddaughter of Mrs. Verena Matthews and the late Arthur Gordon Matthews Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ronald James Mettetal, all of Sumter. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Marion Rowell of Alcolu, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Harold Haygreen of Manning and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gary Leroy Rowell. Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her stepfather, the bride wore an ivory sheath gown of Gulpere lace overlay ending in a scalloped lace edge and featuring a fitted bodice with a sweetheart neckline, a V-back adorned with pearl buttons, a scalloped sash of lace and silk and a sweep train. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas wrapped in burlap and lace. Serving as maids of honor were Brooke Afton Baker, sister of the bride, Courtney Rose Evans and Brianna Wynn Fletcher. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Courtney Rowell Bryant, sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Edmunds, Mrs. Beth Price Fiorito, Mrs. Claire Barnes Hood, Mrs. Chelsea Lee Jackson, Mrs. Gretchen Ellen Jordan, Kayla Raye Oxendine, Abby Jo Perrotta, Brittany Jo Perrotta, and Mrs. Catherine Poston Rowell, sister-in-law of the bridegroom. Flower girls were Lexie Mae Kinder and Reese Reagan Nelson. The bridegroom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Ron Jacob Baker, brother of the bride, Paul Christopher Jones, Shane Blakely Bryant, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Stephen Grayson Howell, Andrew Phillip Marlowe Jr. and Chad Eric Rowell, brother of the bridegroom. Campbell Todd Nelson served as ring bearer. Also participating were Blakeley George Howell, Emelia Mae Jenkins, cousin of the bride, and Caroline Toburen. The bride's parents held the reception at The O'Donnell House. The bridegroom's parents held the rehearsal party at the Heath Pavillion.
