BONNIE STRICKLAND WEATHERSBEE Pinewood -- Bonnie Strickland Weathersbee, 77, widow of Harold A. Weathersbee, Sr., died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late John Ivan Strickland and the late Eddie Mae "Kitty" Hatchell Strickland Batson. She was also considered family by Clarence and Maude Tobias and Talmedge Tobias. Mrs.Weathersbee was a member of First Southern Methodist Church and was formerly employed by NBSC and SC National Banks. Survivors include two sons, Gary L. Weathersbee (Alice E.) of Pinewood and Harold A. "Ricky" Weathersbee, Jr. (Connie B.) of Sumter; four grandchildren, Lindsey Brown Weathersbee, Katie Suzanne Weathersbee, Steven Blake Weathersbee, and Colin Tyler Weathersbee; a brother, Howard Strickland of Irmo; and a sister, Betty Jo Matthews of Sumter. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Elaine Weathersbee. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Sam L. Elliot officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the homes of her sons. Memorials may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation: South Carolina Chapter, 1027 South Pendleton Street B244, Easley, SC 29642.
