| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina VIRGINIA BROWN-SCHWARTZBACK Posted Sunday, July 23, 2017 6:00 am Graveside funeral services for Virginia Weatherford Brown-Schwartzback, 90, who died peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, with her family at her bedside, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ashwood Baptist Church cemetery. The Rev. Gary Boykin will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and other times at her residence, 433 Holman Road, Sumter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to Ashwood Baptist Church, 1075 Lake Ashwood Road, Sumter, SC 29153. Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Directors are serving the family. Mrs. Brown-Schwartzback, widow of Ray Brown and Roger Schwartzback, was born in Florence and resided in Ashwood. She was a daughter of the late Clarence William Weatherford and Rosa Langston Weatherford. She was a lifelong member of Ashwood Baptist Church and retired from Campbell’s Soup. She also enjoyed cooking and her family dearly. She is survived by her son, Ray Allen (Connie) Brown Jr. of Sumter; sister-in-law, Ruth Weatherford of Sumter; and seven grandchildren.
