  HIST	Berry and his brother, Henry L. Wells were administrators of their father’s large estate. He went to Lowndes County, Georgia, in 1832, and married and continued to live there for many years. His first home was in Lowndes County, Georgia, near the Miller Bridge on Little River. He had a large plantation, but decided to sell out and move to what was then Berrien but now Cook County, Georgia. He located on Lot of Land 470, 9th District, and erected a large ante-bellum home, and in time had a very large plantation, several lots of land. Among the varied enterprises on the Wells farm were a brick-kiln, grist-mill, saw-mill; there was established a postoffice named “Stella” which existed many years. Wesley Rountree Wells is the owner of this property and is in his 92nd year.  [1, 2]
