| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina HELEN PRITCHARD PACK Posted Wednesday, January 18, 2023 6:00 am Helen Pritchard Pack, 86, widow of Robert Lee Pack Sr., died on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, at NHC Healthcare. Born on Feb. 15, 1936, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Robert Gentry Pritchard and Winnie Sue Betts Pritchard. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member of her Sunday school class and a faithful attendee of the widow's luncheon. She enjoyed going to the Country Music Barn. She retired from Becton-Dickinson. Survivors include three sons, George Donald Pack (Ann), Walter Dean Pack (Sheila) and Brian Gentry Pack (Cheryl), all of Sumter; grandchildren, Brandon Lance Pack, George Michael Pack, Walter Dean Pack Jr., Kendal Davis Pack, Tristan Lee Pack, Kimberly Ann Back, Robert Gentry Pack and Kayla Nicole Osteen; numerous great-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee Pack Jr.; a grandson, Robert Donald Pack; a brother, Ray Pritchard; and a sister, Elizabeth Cox. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne McElveen officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. on Thursday at Providence Baptist Church and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Pack, 361 Old Manning Road. Memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church, 2445 Old Manning Road, Sumter, SC 29150. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements. [2, 5] | |
