NORRIS Mattie O'Dell Jones Norris, 85, widow of Richard H. Norris, Sr., died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at Covenant Place. Born in Lone Star, she was a daughter of the late Luther E. Jones and the late Eva Wells Jones. She was a longtime active member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church and a retired bookkeeper with Norris Construction Company. Surviving are a son, Richard H. "Hamp" Norris Jr., and wife, Cindy, of Florence; a daughter, Jean Cooper and husband, Elliott, of Columbia; a sister, Virginia Elizabeth Mims of Sumter; five granddaughters, Cindy Martellini and husband, Tony, Allison Shuler and husband, Frank, Jill Scarborough and husband, Matt, Joey Fink and husband, Corey, Rebecca Skelton and husband, Grant; nine great-grandchildren, Elliott Mainor, Nicholas Martellini, Carin Shuler, Anna Kate Shuler, Madeline Maury Shuler, Lane Scarborough, Lee Scarborough, Kate Scarborough and Hannah Fink. She was preceded in death by a brother, Luther E. Jones Jr. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Corey Fink, Grant Skelton, Matt Scarborough, Frank Shuler, Tony Martellini and Elliott Mainor. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church Building Fund, 27 Broad St., Sumter, SC 29150; to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, P.O.
