Born Sept. 16, 1934, in Turbeville, she was a daughter of the late Henry Edward Gibbons and Julia Burris Driggers. She was a retired restaurant owner; a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church; attended Bethlehem United Methodist Church; and will always be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of Manning; five daughters, Paula Moore (Bill) of Florence, Marie Ridgeway of Manning, Darlene Thames (Hugh) of Sumter, Virginia Strasburger of Sumter and Cheryl Windham (Gene) of Manning; two sons, Ricky Ridgeway (Melissa) of Manning and Tony Ridgeway (Sheila) of Manning; two sisters, Pat Montgomery of Baldwin Park, Calif., and Travis Davis of Sumter; three brothers, Carl Gibbons of Sumter, L.G. Mathis of Manning and Jerry Blackmon of Sumter; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Wilkes; and a brother, Jimmy Gibbons. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Ritter officiating, assisted by the Rev. Drew Taylor. Burial will follow in Bethlehem United Methodist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Windham Jr., Blake Stegner, T.J. Ridgeway, Walt Ridgeway, Chris Cole, Cody Stephens, Rick Richards and Jay Boykin. Honorary pallbearers will be Britt Scott, Lenn Gardner and Alex Stegner. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 1133 Abernathy St., Manning.
