| HIST | at death she had a daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren- where do they go? jkh DELORES ARDIS Posted Wednesday, January 5, 2022 6:00 am Delores "Tootsie" Ardis, 82, beloved wife of Kenny Ardis, went to be with Jesus Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born April 21, 1939, in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late William Ollie Dennis and Eula Mae Player Dennis. Mrs. Ardis was a faithful member of Eastside Baptist Church, the Eastside Ladies Fellowship and Eastside Senior Adults. Survivors include her husband of 53 years; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Matthews; three grandchildren, Beth Matthews, Michelle Williamson (Jamie) and Stephen Matthews; a great-granddaughter, Baylee Williamson; four brothers, Bobby Joe Dennis, W.C. Dennis (Sharon), Frank Dennis and W.O. Dennis; and five sisters, Barbara Hodge, Carolyn Robinson, Maurice Gibbons (Glenn), Diane Williamson (Allen) and Cindy McGee (Tommy). She was preceded in death by two sons, Michael "Mike" Matthews and Timothy "Tim" Matthews; five brothers, Lavon Dennis, Roger Dennis, Tony Dennis, Earl Dennis and Leroy Dennis; and two sisters, Ollie Mae Morris and Rosemary Dennis. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Baughn officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Ienello, Jamie Williamson, Lee Pack, Kenny Mixon, Hank Todd and Timmy Mullen. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Men's and Ladies' Sunday School Classes. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church, 701 Boulevard Road, Sumter, SC 29153. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements. [1] | |
