| HIST | of Bishopville, South Carolina of Greenville, South Carolina Lessie White 1936 - 2021 Lessie White April 7, 1936 - April 20, 2021 Bishopville, South Carolina - Celeste "Lessie" Windham White, 85, of Greenville, SC and formerly of Bishopville, SC passed away on April 20th, 2021. She was born on April 7, 1936 in Bishopville, SC to Ellen Harris Windham and Cret Windham. After graduating from Bishopville High School, she went on to study nursing at Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, SC where she obtained her R.N. degree. After graduation, she worked at Lee County Memorial Hospital and worked for several doctors in Bishopville, SC. Always a dedicated nurse, she was there for friends and family in the community when they needed help. Mrs. White was an active member of Ashland United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, and served in many roles in the church. Her family always looked forward to her Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts and she made sure to include anyone that was not able to be with family. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Bob White; her precious daughter, Vicki White Fanning; and her brother, Marvin Windham. Surviving are her son, Robert H. (Susan) White of Greenville, SC; granddaughter, Carrie (Doug) Winesett of Roanoke, VA; grandsons, Joseph (Tina) Fanning of Charleston, SC, Daniel Fanning of Myrtle Beach, SC; great-grandchildren, Hunter Fanning, Patrick, and Cooper Winesett. She adored her nieces and nephews too! The family wishes to thank NHC of Mauldin and Caris Healthcare for special care received. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday April 23rd at Westview Memorial Park Cemetery located at 2223 Kelleytown Rd. Hartsville, SC. The Rev. Steve Winburn and the Rev. Lin Kirkman will officiate. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Directors are caring for the family. Memorials may be sent to Ashland United Methodist Church, c/o of Darlene Yarborough, 426 Hillcrest Rd.
