His wife is listed as the late Denise Elaine Ganz. jkh Bruce Alexander Murray MARCH 20, 1942 ~ SEPTEMBER 14, 2019 (AGE 77) Recommend Sumter, SC…Bruce Alexander Murray, age 77, beloved husband of the late Denise Elaine Ganz Murray, died Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Continue Care Hospital at Prisma Health Baptist. Born in Sumter, SC he was a son of the late Nelson Burgess Murray Jr. and Marie Lousie Haynsworth Murray. Bruce was raised in Connecticut by his mother and step father, Clifford Edward Weidner, where he attended high school. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force and served for over seven years. Bruce settled in Sumter after his service in the Air Force and started his farm where he raised livestock. He soon went to work with his aunt at Vaught’s Greenhouse in Sumter and eventually purchased the business for himself, renaming it Western Florist. He was a very active with his children in the local 4H club and was the current president of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Sheep Industries. He loved to work on his farm, tending to his livestock and bailing hay, but his true joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a very loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by; two sons, Roy Edward Murray and his wife Ladonna of Sumter and Todd Dwain Murray and his wife Paula of Sumter; three daughters, Heather Marie Murray of Crestview, FL, Katrina Luksovsky and her husband Kyle of the Netherlands and Brittany Newman and her husband Tommy of Sumter; one brother, Nelson Burgess Murray III of FL; two sisters, Caroline Murray Teese and her husband Greg of Aiken, SC and Dr. Faith Weidner-Miller and her husband Jim of Connecticut; twelve grandchildren, Kelsey, Katlyn, Harlee, Mason, Brighton, Alexander, Owen, Kerriana Elaine, Mia, Lee, Adylyn and Jessie and one great granddaughter, Kendall. In addition to his wife and parents, Bruce was predeceased by his step father, Clifford Edward Weidner and his step mother, Virginia Murray. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors following the service. The family will receive Friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 am on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Bullock Funeral Home. The burial will be private.
