Smith TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. -- Margaret B. Smith, age 75, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at National Healthcare Center in Sumter, after an illness. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Shiloh United Methodist Church in the Lynchburg community, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Born near the Olanta community in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Kirby Bingham and Willa Rhea Moore Bingham. She was a bookkeeper and worked as an antique dealer. Margaret and her husband, Walter, were former residents of Tybee Island and Savannah, Ga. She was preceded in death by her sister, Emma Rhea Tedder; and a brother-in-law, William Delbert Floyd. She is survived by her husband, Walter E. Smith of Savannah; a son, William Jack "Rocky" (Marguerite) Hollingsworth Jr. of Franktown, Colo.; two sisters, Joanne Floyd of Lake City and Grace (Wyman) Watts of Mayesville; three stepchildren, Bruce (Pam) Smith of Athens, Ga., Carol (Birkie) Ayer of Augusta, Ga., and Nora Richardson of Savannah; one brother-in-law, Rosevelt Tedder of Timmonsville; and 12 step-grandchildren.
