| HIST | Is Harold the grandfather of William Matthew Rogers? jkh of Sumter, South Carolina Rogerses celebrate 50 years Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rogers of Sumter celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 11, 2011, at their daughter's home. A reception was given in their honor by their three children and their spouses: Robert and Wendy Smith, William and Beth Rogers, and Wendell and Chrissy Rogers, all of Sumter. The couple has three grandchildren. Mrs. Rogers is the former Anne Ella Collum of Batesburg. Posted in Anniversaries on Sunday, July 24, 2011 HAROLD E. ROGERS Posted Friday, April 28, 2017 6:00 am Harold Eugene Rogers, age 77, beloved husband of 55 years to Anne Ella Collum Rogers, died on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Palmetto Health Tuomey. Born in Ridge Springs, he was a son of the late Theophilus and Kathleen Fallaw Rogers. Mr. Rogers spent two years with the United States Army and six years with the Army National Guard. He worked for GTE Phone Co. for 29 years and owned and operated a yard and tree service with his sons for 43 years. He enjoyed A-Model cars, and hunting and fishing in his spare time. He will be remembered as a wonderful father who loved his children very much and a loving husband and grandfather. He was a member of Northside Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, William Rogers and his wife, Beth, and Wendell Rogers and his wife, Chrissy; one daughter, Wendy Smith and her husband, Robert, all of Sumter; three grandchildren, Matt Rogers and his wife, Amanda, Michael Rogers and Keirstyn Rogers; and one great-grandchild, Zak Rogers. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Northside Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Holley, the Rev. Jim Johnson and the Rev. Neal Sweet officiating. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bullock Funeral Home and other times at the home of son, Wendell.
