Bryant Marie Anderson Bryant, 88, widow of Henry Troy “Pete” Bryant, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at NHC Healthcare in Sumter. Born in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Eddie Anderson and Hulda Barfield Anderson. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include three daughters, Diane Floyd (John) and Ann Christy (Doug), both of Sumter, and Sandra Surles of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sons, David Troy Bryant (Mary) of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Eddie Bryant (Faye) of Sumter; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Blake of Charleston; and special caregivers Betty Bochette, Julie Welch, Dottie Booker and Gayle Stephens. She was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Anderson of Manning; and three sisters, Edna Welch, Juanita Parker and Lennie Mae Mosely. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Betty Gainey and the Rev. Toney Booker officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Bryant, 1425 Pinewood Road. Memorials may be made to Faith Outreach Assembly, 42 Callen Drive, Sumter, SC 29150. The family would like to thank the nurses and CNAs of NHC Healthcare’s Iris Hall and the staff of Caris Hospice.
