WAY Jr. SUMMERTON – Reuben H. "R.H." Way Jr., 83, widower of Edna Jane Lee Way, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at his home in Summerton. Born July 6, 1925, in Holly Hill, he was a son of the late Reuben H. Sr. and Lurline Kemmerlin Way. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran, former co-owner of Way Brothers Building Supply, and a retired building contractor. Surviving are two daughters, Patsy (Larry) Causey of Sumter and Jackie (Kenneth Jr.) Hodge of Summerton; a son, Randy (Siel) Way of Bolivia, N.C.; two sisters, Lillian Bacot of North Santee and Jeanette Carn of St. George; nine grandchildren, Tim Causey, Chandra Robinson, Ken Hodge III, Lisa Bagnal, Tray Way, Kirk Way, Sheila Way, Randall Way and Travis Way; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Tracy Way; two brothers, Vernon Way and James Way; and three sisters, Marie Stephen, Gladys Robinson and Blanche May. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Tommy Burgess officiating. Burial will follow in Summerton Evergreen Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning and at other times at the residence, 2 Caldwell St., Summerton.
