  HIST	JOHN T. MORRIS Posted Saturday, November 6, 2021 6:00 am John T. "J.T." Morris, 80, husband of Patricia "Trish" Ard Morris, died on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born on May 7, 1941, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Emmett and Pearl Kennely Morris. He was a member of Sumter First Church of God. He retired from Campbell Soup Co., Santee Print Works and Sumter School District 2. Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years; three children, Sherri Petrera (Christopher) of Beaufort, Jay Morris (Tracy) of Lenoir City, Tennessee, and Richie Morris (Heather) of Sumter; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wendell Morris (Earline) and Homer Morris (Nadine), all of Sumter; a special brother-in-law, Steve Ard (Judy) of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mary Watford officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.  [1]
