Which children belong to which wife? jkh Wreck in Dalzell leaves man dead FROM STAFF REPORTS A 76-year-old man was killed in a single-car wreck Tuesday morning in Dalzell. James Edward Boyce Sr. of Dalzell was driving his Chevrolet S10 pickup on Live Oak Road about 11:30 a.m. when the vehicle hit a tree. The state Highway Patrol, Sumter Fire Department and Sumter Emergency Medical Services all responded to the scene, where Boyce was pronounced dead. The cause of death was not immediately apparent. Highway Patrol is investigating, and Sumter County Coroner Harvin Bullock said an autopsy would be performed today. Boyce was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck. Posted in Local news, News on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 James E. Boyce Sr. DALZELL -- James Edward Boyce Sr., age 76, beloved husband of Deanne Klump Boyce, died on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2012. He was born on Sept. 9, 1935, a son of the late Eugene Hubert and Daisy Norris Boyce. He loved woodworking and playing his guitar with the Maxie Branch Bluegrass Band, but the Tuesday morning Crosspoint Bible study and the Wednesday morning fellowship group was closest to his heart. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of Crosspoint Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, James Edward "Eddie" Boyce Jr. and his wife, Darlene, of Kernersville, N.C., Richard "Rick" Geddings Boyce and his wife, Debbie, of Irmo and Kenneth "Ken" Jackson Boyce of Dalzell; five daughters, Virginia "Ginny" B. Dority and her husband, Chris, and Julie B. Kirven, all of Sumter, Denise Taylor and her husband, David, of Poquoson, Va., Suzie Cantrell and her husband, Clyde, of Gastonia, N.C., and Kimberly Johnson and her husband, Charles, of Dalzell; one brother, Kenneth Boyce and his wife, Millie, of Rockford, Ill.; two sisters, Sadie Agnew and her husband, Bill, and Nancy Tetter and her husband, Joe, all of Lebanon, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene H. Boyce; and a daughter-in-law, Millie Boyce. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Crosspoint Baptist Church with the Rev. John Sorrells officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery. Pallbearers will be William James Dority, Tommy Hickson, Chris Hawkins, Carroll Jones, Lake Kirven, Chris Nave, Gene Rhiner and Ned Ross. Honorary pallbearers will be all of the men from both his Tuesday and Wednesday Bible studies. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bullock Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Crosspoint Baptist Church, 2755 Carter Road, Sumter, SC 29150.
