A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peachtree Baptist Church by the Rev. Gene Whitehouse. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Ann Griffin Browder of the home; a daughter, Christy Hicks of Mechanicsville, Va.; two sons, Bobby Browder Jr. and wife, Jeanne, of Spring Hope and Michael Browder and wife, Amy, of Elm City; four grandchildren, Carrie Browder, Megan Hicks, Garrett Browder and Emma Grace Browder; and two brothers, Jack Browder and Doug Browder, both of Sumter. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Browder and Rosa Lee Browder Smith; his special stepdad, Benjamin "Buddy" Smith; and special uncle and aunt, Arthur and Maybelle Orbin. The family will receive friends at Spring Hope Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and other times at the home. Flowers are accepted or a memorial contribution may be made to Peachtree Baptist Church, P.O. Box 579, Spring Hope, NC 27882, or to ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), 120 Penmare Drive, Suite 101, Raleigh, NC 27603.
