He was a member of the Continental American Legion Post 541, a court appointed special advocate for children in Putnam and Allen Counties, a Synodical Authorized Minister with the Evangelical Lutheran Church, charter member of the Continental Lions Club, 40 year member of the Free and Accepted Masons in South Carolina and Ohio, a former member of the Continental EMS and Board of Public Affairs, and also a former member of the High Hill Baptist Church in Scranton, South Carolina. He was buried with military rites by the Continental American Legion. A Masonic service by the Continental Masonic Lodge was held Saturday 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
