Heath "Heathy" Manning Jr., 55, died early Saturday Dec. 22, 2007, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday, December 26, at Trinity Cathedral, Columbia. The burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery and the family will receive guests at 128 Holliday Road following the services. Heathy is the son of C. Heath Manning and Jean Rickenbaker Ravenel. He is also survived by his loving wife, Sheryl Hughes Manning; his children, Chappelle Heath Manning III, Baker Patterson Manning, Martha Louis Manning, Nicole Allyn Rogers, Candace Rogers Green, as well as his newborn grandchild, Brady Thomas Green. Heathy was born in Columbia February 9, 1952, had an abiding love for horses and family. He was a great rider and a well known professional polo player for many years. He later worked with the Manning Company in developing the Wildewood subdivision in Richland NE. Among his accomplishments, he is best remembered for his unending devotion to his children and his love for his family and friends. He was always faithful and loyal and those close to him never questioned his support. He was a great father—and a stalwart friend to so many around the state and country. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Ronald McDonald House. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Inscription: "Our Heathy" Beloved Husband, Father, Son, Brother, And Friend Your Courageous And Loyal Love Will Live On In Our Hearts Forever.
