| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina Ollie Lewis Bell Ollie Lewis Bell, 85, husband of Gladys Avin Bell, died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Ollie Leo and Annie Garrett Bell. Mr. Bell was a member of Bible Fellowship Church and the Howell Bible Class. He was a retired U.S. Air Force staff sergeant with 26 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was twice married, first to the late Sadie T. Bell. Surviving are his wife, Gladys Avin Bell of Sumter; a son, Mike Bell (Janice) of Dalzell; a stepson, Wayne Jones of Sumter; two stepdaughters, Linda Bradley (Arthur) and Peggy Atkinson (Allen), all of Sumter; two sisters, Juanita Boykin of Sumter and Thelma DeHart (D.C.) of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianne Plemmons; two brothers; and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bible Fellowship Church with the Rev. Jim Ketchum officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home, 1204 Devonshire Drive.
