Boykin, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in Hartsville. Born in Holly Hill, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Lessie Jackson Peeples. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Bishopville, where she served as president of the Missionary Society and teacher of the adult Sunday school class. As well as being a loving mother and grandmother, she was a loving friend to everyone. Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth B. Alexander (James K. Alexander Jr.) of Seneca; a son, Phillip Boykin of Bishopville; a sister, Lelia Mae Cato of Alaska; three grandchildren, Danielle R. Boykin, John S. Scott Jr. and Phillip K. Scott; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, David K. Boykin; and two brothers, Laurie Peeples and James Peeples. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Church of the Nazarene of Bishopville with the Rev. Scott Henry, the Rev. Tom Rutan and the Rev. T.W. Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Piedmont Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home and other times at 707 Barnett Drive, Bishopville. Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene of Bishopville, 320 N. Dennis Ave., Bishopville, SC 29010. Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home of Bishopville is in charge of the arrangements.  [1]
