Born in Charleston, she was a daughter of the late George Lamar Proctor and Sarah Francis Proctor. Mrs. Griffin was a member of Concord Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband of Sumter; a daughter, Stacey Hodge of Sumter; three grandchildren, Shayley McLeod, Bridget Hodge and William Atkinson Jr., all of Sumter; a brother, Ricky Proctor (Rita) of Manning; a sister, Gail Johnson (Tommy) of Summerville; and a special friend, Barbara Card. She was preceded in death by a son, Brent Joe Hodge. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Gene Mosier officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home.
