Born in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late George Adkins and Rhodie Griffin Adkins. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Surviving are four sons; Billy, Edward, Len and Woodrow, all of Sumter; one daughter; Shirley Jackson of Sumter; 13 grandchildren and 22 great and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Wallace and Anna Disher, and one grandson, Gary Jackson. Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hummel officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home, 1175 S. St. Paul Church Road.
