Ruby S. Lucas MANNING - Ruby Olive Stone Lucas, 74, widow of Henry Walsh Lucas, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at Providence Hospital in Columbia. Born Jan. 12, 1937, in Manning, she was the daughter of the late Harry Cullen Stone and the late Lucille Hodge Stone. She was a retired bookkeeper and secretary for Scott Jackson Farms for nearly 40 years. She was a member of Home Branch Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and was devoted to her family. She is survived by four sons, Jon Lucas and his wife, Deborah, of Hartsville, Harry Lucas of Columbia and Henry Lucas and his wife, Debbie, and Roger Lucas and his wife, Desi, both of Manning; two daughters, Jane Lum and her husband, Harry, of Irmo and Aimee Owens and her husband, Larry, of Williston; two sisters, Sara Vining and her husband, Cecil, of Sumter and Jo Ann McElveen and her husband, Gerald, of Turbeville; 13 grandchildren, Averitt Lucas (Courtney), Brent Lucas, Lauren and Macy Lucas, Tina Ethridge, Crystal Summerford (Steve), Aaron Lum, Kelli Spigner (Mark), Cory Dukes, Griffin Fender, Melanie Grubbs, Michael Guest and Angela Logan; eight great-grandchildren, Kayce, Allie Rose, Jamie, Hayley, Dana, Wesley, Holley and Kaddin; and a great-great-grandson, Eli. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Ethan Summerford. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Home Branch Baptist Church, with the Revs. Robert Haynes and Richard Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Home Branch Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mac Geddings, Danny Hall, Garret Vining, Brent Lucas, Averitt Lucas and Cory Dukes. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Henry Lucas, 5047 Paxville Highway, Manning. Memorials may be made to Home Branch Baptist Church, 1667 Stone Road, Manning, SC 29102. Stephens Funeral Home & Crematory, 304 N.
