Following the service the family will receive friends at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 400 Harbison Boulevard. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mrs. Post died Thursday, April 9, 2009. Born in Conway, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Kirby Caines and Gertrude Moore Caines. Following the death of her first husband, Earle J. Hayes, Jr., she was actively involved in “Parents without Partners.” She enjoyed dancing and bowling where she met her husband, Charles P. Post. Together they bowled and traveled to tournaments, enjoying their time together. She also loved garage sales, collecting birds and being “Maw Maw” to six precious grandchildren. Mrs. Post retired as an elementary teacher after thirty-five years with Richland District 1 and was a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Charles P. Post; children, Earle J. “Jay” Hayes, III and wife, Tonya, of Irmo; Lisa Hayes Prince and her husband, Clif, of Columbia; Mary Hayes Thompson and her husband, Michael, of Alpharetta, Ga.; Lisa Post Best and her husband, Lary, of Chesapeake, Va.; John Post and his wife, Kimberly, of Gaston; grandchildren, Brandon Thompson, Bryson Hayes, Garrett Hayes, Kayla Best, Connor Best and Jonathan Post; and half-sister, Fran Boone of Irmo.
