Eugene and Mildred's son Eugene is Eugene MORGAN DuCom as opposed to the listed name of Eugene Mellette DuCom Jr. I have found sever sites that list him as Eugene M. DuCom JR, but have verbally verified with him that his middle name is infact MORGAN, after his mother's maiden name. Eugene Morgan DuCom has a son who also goes by Eugene M. Ramey, 92, died on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Potomac Place Assisted Living in Woodbridge, Virginia. Born in Sumter, Mildred was a daughter of the late Clifton M. and Maurice C. "Pete" Morgan. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church and the Garris McCoy Sunday School Class for many years. Mildred served as past matron of Sumter Chapter 188 Order of Eastern Star, past grand Esther of the Grand Chapter of South Carolina, and held numerous other positions within the organization. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia D. Lynn (Don) of Occoquan, Virginia; sons, Eugene DuCom (Linda) of Sumter and Samuel (Sammy) Ramey of Dardanelle, Arkansas. She is also survived by sisters, Evelyn Mitchell and Joan Brashear (Walt) of Sumter; brother, Clifton M. Morgan of Fayetteville, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel M. Ramey; a daughter, Barbara Ramey Dunning; brother, Carlisle Morgan; and sister, Beulah (Sugar) Marie Greer. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel of the Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Brown officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be made to St. John United Methodist Church, 136 Poinsett Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.
