MARION T. HILL
MANNING – Marion Thomas Hill, 81, husband of Frances McAllister Hill, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.
Born Dec. 7, 1927, in Manning, he was a son of the late Lucius Franklin and Jessie Mae Galloway Hill. He was retired from Santee Print Works and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Little Star Pentecostal Holiness Church. He spent many happy years after retirement at the Coffee Shop, and served his Lord faithfully by teaching Sunday school and sharing His love with others.
He is survived by his wife of Manning; a son, Thomas Marion Hill and wife, Sharon, of Salem, Va.; two daughters, Debra Linkous and husband, Barry, of Salem and Gwen Lee and husband, Mike, of Manning; two sisters, Virginia Brogdon of Sumter and Ida Davidson of Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Ryan Linkous (Amy), Benjamin Linkous (Luisa), Courtney McFaddin (George), Whitney Lee, Cary Lee, Matthew Hill, and Cady Grace Hill; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Willard, Lucius and Clyde Hill; and a sister, Eleanor Ellis.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Morris Smith and the Rev. Ryan Linkous officiating. Burial will follow in Manning Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.
