The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie M. Baker Sr., and the granddaughter of Mrs. Anna Mood Baker and the late Claude Baker Sr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Keith McElveen Sr., all of Sumter. She graduated from Thomas Sumter Academy, Columbia College with a bachelor of arts in dance, and from the University of South Carolina with a doctorate of physical therapy. She is employed as a physical therapist by Duke University Health System, Raleigh, N.C. The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Michael T. McCarty of Elko, and the grandson of Mrs. Emily Matthews McCarty and the late Willie Tyrone McCarty of Batesburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Willie B. Wingo Jr. of Union. He graduated from Williston-Elko High School and Furman University with a bachelor of arts in religion and a bachelor of science in mathematics-economics. He attends the master of divinity program at Duke Divinity School. The Rev. Dr. Burnie Perry officiated at the ceremony. Music was provided by Mrs. Teresa Radford, organist; Dr. Hsu Huei Ko, violinist; James Lanier and Mrs. Debbie Hudson, pianists; and Cory Singleton and Mrs. Allison Singleton, vocalists. Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant Italian satin gown featuring a strapless bodice with hand-appliqued lace motif, a natural waistline rouched to the side and holding the A-line, upswept skirt adorned with beaded lace, tiny satin covered buttons adorning the back, and a cathedral-length train. She carried a bouquet of cascading stargazer lilies, green and white hydrangea, green dendrobium orchids, Bells of Ireland and ivy. Dr. Amber Lynn Henry served as maid of honor, with Mrs. Carrie Evans Watford as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Karen Baker Coker, Sarah Frances Dubose, Mrs. Jennifer Johnston Kish, Elizabeth Gayle McCarty, sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. Jessica Tye McLeod, Mrs. Catherine Shell Ryan and Mrs. Brenna Layton Stogner. Hazel-Grace Olivia Coker and Caroline Elise McElveen served as flower girls. The bridegroom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Eddie Mood Baker Jr., brother of the bride, Matthew David Goodson, Chad Ashley Miller, Colin Andrew Murch, Jamie Carrol Roberts, Jonathan Blake Sanders, William Goddeyne Stanton and John Kerwin Trussell.
