If this Dewey is not the father of John then Edward is probably not his middle name. jkh DEWEY EDWARD KNIGHT Posted Friday, December 31, 2021 6:00 am Dewey "Dickie" Edward Knight, 89, widower of Elizabeth "Betty" Knight, 82, died on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born in Bennettsville, he was a son of the late D.D. and Thelma H. Knight. Dickie was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He retired from General Telephone Co., Tuomey Hospital, and was later employed with Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. He was also a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by four sons, Michael Knight (Kim), Steve Knight (Cheryl), John Knight (Linda) and Charles Knight (Tammy), all of Sumter; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Hope Knight Peavy. A private graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
