Born in Greeleyville, she was a daughter of the late Travis Elloree Guess and the late Ruth Fallaw Guess. Mrs. Compton was a member of First Church of God. Survivors include three children, Kenneth E. Rast, Susan Rast Daughrity (Sid), and Jason D. Compton (Danielle); six grandchildren, Jay Daughrity (Leanne), Candi D. Quiroz (Darien), Casey D. Barth, Chad Daughrity, Travis Compton, and Kelly Compton; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 4 PM Monday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ron Bower officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 PM Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to United Ministries, 36 Artillery Dr., Sumter, SC 29150.
